Membership: AAEM/RSA and AAEM

AAEM/RSA enjoys a close relationship with AAEM that allows for several advantages:

• The AAEM/RSA President is a full voting member of the AAEM Board, which allows AAEM/RSA a seat at the table in guiding the AAEM agenda.
  
  
• AAEM strongly supports residency education and board certification, which allows us to use their significant resources and financial support on key issues.
  
  
• Through regular communication between AAEM/RSA and the AAEM Board we take advantage of AAEM's significant expertise in advocacy, education, and business matters.
  
  
• Mentoring opportunities between AAEM/RSA and AAEM leadership.
  
  
• Opportunity for resident members to participate in AAEM committees and task forces.
  
  

However, the foremost reason we have become involved with AAEM, is our strong support for the AAEM Mission and AAEM's willingness to tackle controversial issues and fight for the individual emergency physician.
