Announcing the 2021-2022 Board of Directors and Medical Student Council

The American Academy of Emergency Medicine Resident & Student Association (AAEM/RSA) announces the election results for the 2021-2022 AAEM/RSA Board of Directors and Medical Student Council. Terms will go into effect May 1, 2021 and run through May 1, 2022.

AAEM/RSA Board of Directors

  • President: Lauren Lamparter, MD (May 2021)
  • Vice President: Ryan DesCamp, MD MPH
  • Secretary-Treasurer: Corey McNeilly, MD
  • At Large Directors:
    • Megan Daniels, MD
    • Nahal Nikroo, MD
    • Alexandra Reed, DO
    • Loren Touma, DO
    • Anika Turkiewicz, MD
    • Jordan Vaughn, MD 
  • Haig Aintablian, MD, will continue on the board as immediate past president

  • President: Ashley Iannantone (also serves on the AAEM/RSA Board of Directors)
  • Vice President: Bryan Redmond
  • Midwest Regional Representative: Rob Canning
  • Northeastern Regional Representative: Joanna Cho 
  • Southern Regional Representative: JoJo Dodd 
  • Western Regional Representative: Kersti Bellardi 
  • Ex-Officio International Representative: Ava Omidvar

AAEM Resident & Student Association Announces 2021 Election Results


MILWAUKEE — The American Academy of Emergency Medicine Resident & Student Association (AAEM/RSA) announces the election results for the 2021-2022 AAEM/RSA Board of Directors and Medical Student Council. Board terms will run through May 1, 2022.

AAEM/RSA announces that Lauren Lamparter, MSIV, was elected President; Ryan DesCamp, MD MPH, was elected Vice President; Corey McNeilly, MD, was elected Secretary-Treasurer; and Megan Daniels, MD; Nahal Nikroo, MD; Alexandra Reed, DO; Loren Touma, DO; Anika Turkiewicz, MD; and Jordan Vaughn, MD; were elected to one-year terms as At-Large Board Members. Haig Aintablian, MD, will continue on the board as Immediate Past President.

Dr. Lamparter is a rising intern graduating from Loyola Stritch School of Medicine; Dr. DesCamp is a resident at University of Chicago; Dr. McNeilly, is a resident at University of Tennessee Nashville; Dr. Aintablian is a resident at UCLA - Olive View; Dr. Daniels and Dr. Turkiewicz are residents at Temple University; Dr. Nikroo is a resident at Healthquest – Vassar Brothers Medical Center; Dr. Reed and Dr. Touma are residents at Jefferson Northeast; and Dr. Vaughn is a resident at Louisiana State University - New Orleans.

AAEM/RSA would also like to announce the results for the Medical Student Council election. Ashley Iannantone was elected to serve as the AAEM/RSA Medical Student Council President, a position that also serves on the AAEM/RSA Board of Directors. Bryan Redmond, was elected Vice President, Rob Canning was elected Midwest Regional Representative, Joanna Cho was elected Northeastern Regional Representative, JoJo Dodd was elected Southern Regional Representative, and Kersti Bellardi was elected Western Regional Representative. Ava Omidvar was elected as an Ex-Officio International Representative. These positions are all one-year terms.

Ms. Iannantone is a student at Loyola Stritch School of Medicine; Mr. Redmond is a student at the University of Rochester School of Medicine & Dentistry; Mr. Canning is a student at Loyola Stritch School of Medicine; Ms. Cho is a student at University of Rochester School of Medicine & Dentistry; Mr. Dodd is a student at the University of Mississippi Medical Center; Ms. Bellardi is a student at  Western University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific; and Ms. Omidvar is a student at St. George’s University.
