Membership Types
Multi-year membership options are available at a discounted rate for each membership type listed below. For more information, please contact us at info@aaemrsa.org.
Resident Membership ($50) - Valid 07/01/11 - 06/30/12
A resident member must be a resident in emergency medicine at an Accreditation Council on Graduate Medical Education or American Osteopathic Association accredited residency program.
Resident members may vote for resident positions within AAEM/RSA board of directors.
International Resident Membership ($20) - Valid 07/01/11 - 06/30/12
International member status is available for those resident/fellows with an interest in emergency medicine who practice outside of the United States or Canada. Canadian residents/fellows who do not meet the above criteria are also eligible for international membership. U.S. citizens who pursue an interest in emergency medicine in training programs that do not meet the above criteria are also eligible for international membership. International members may vote, and are eligible to run for the international ex-officio board position only.
International resident members receive the same benefits as the resident/fellow membership, but includes an electronic subscription to Common Sense. A free copy of The AAEM/RSA Toxicology Handbook is available to international resident members, but the member must pay shipping cost.
Transitional Membership ($50) - Valid 07/01/11 - 06/30/12
A medical student who completed medical school but has not applied for or been accepted to an emergency medicine residency program is eligible for up to two years of transitional membership. A graduating medical student who is serving in the military and is unable to enter in to an emergency medicine residency program due to military commitments is eligible for transitional membership for up to four years. Transitional members shall have no right to run for office. Transitional members receive the same member benefits as a resident member.
Free Student Membership - Valid 07/01/11 - 06/30/12
A free student member must be a medical student at an accredited medical or osteopathic program in the United States or Canada. Free student members are eligible for this membership only during the first membership year they belong to AAEM/RSA. Free student members shall have no right to vote.
Student & Student with JEM Membership ($20, $50) - Valid 07/01/11 - 06/30/12
A student member must be a medical student at an accredited medical or osteopathic program in the United States or Canada. Student members may vote for the student representative to the AAEM/RSA board of directors and the regional representatives of the AAEM/RSA Medical Student Council.
International Student Membership ($20) - Valid 07/01/11 - 06/30/12
International member status is available for those medical students with an interest in emergency medicine who practice outside of the United States or Canada. Canadian students who do not meet the above criteria are also eligible for international membership. U.S. citizens who pursue an interest in emergency medicine in medical schools that do not meet the above criteria are also eligible for international membership.
